Andresa Soares e Lígia Soares nasceram em Lisboa no mesmo ano, no mesmo dia e são irmãs.
Sobre este facto poder-se-ia dizer muita coisa mas nada que elas não possam contestar como proprietárias absolutas de um fenómeno que se refere apenas a elas e vive entre elas - o facto de partilharem o mesmo tempo de vida, o mesmo local de nascimento e de apresentarem aparentemente mais semelhanças do que diferenças.
O traçar fronteiras e definir territórios é, para as artistas, não só uma condição essencial para a experiência individual construida ao longo das suas vidas.
Em colaborações anteriores as artistas experimentaram o potencial da simultaneidade. Após estes dois trabalhos as artistas decidiram finalmente habitar essa linha fronteiriça anteriormente traçada em palco, assumindo um aspecto incontestavelmente comum a partir da qual procurarão afirmar a sua singularidade- a sua semelhança fisica.
Referindo um universo mais geral, este projecto é também uma forma de manifestar a vontade de não integração, de não ser confundido, de expressão do que é singular, de reivindicação do inclassificável, do inominável, da estranheza - em suma, dos mistérios insolúveis da identidade e da sua afirmação.
A questão de autoria tornar-se-á possivelmente um disfrutável jogo de atribuições que deixaremos à consideração do público.

MY SPECIALITY and MY SPECIFICITY
(2007)

Andresa Soares and Lígia Soares were born in the same year, in the same day in Lisbon and they are sisters.
About this, a lot could be said but nothing that they cannot contest, as holders of a phenomenon which refers only to them, living among them - the fact of sharing the same lifetime, the same birth place and of apparently featuring more similarities than differences.
To draw frontiers and to set territories is, for the both artists, not only a crucial condition to their individual experience, but also a practice explored at a more complex level, the artistic.
In previous collaborations (2004 and 2006) the artists explored the potential of simultaneity. After these two works the artists have at last decided to inhabit the borderline previously drawn on stage, assuming an incontestable common aspect, their physical similitude, which will be used to prove their singularity.
Referring to a wider universe, this project is also a way of showing the desire of not to integrate, to not be confused, to express what is singular, claiming the unclassifiable, the nameless, the strangeness - in short, the insoluble mysteries of identity and its statement.
The question of authorship will possibly become an enjoyable assignments game left to the public consideration.
