Nos meus trabalhos, onde as disciplinas da dança e do teatro entram normalmente em furiosa competição, às vezes começo por escrever para depois criar e encenar movimento, outras começo por criar movimentos ou acções, para finalmente escrever uma peça.
Desta vez, comecei por sentar-me a escrever.
E no desejo de este texto se vir a tornar uma peça de teatro, sentei-me à frente do computador como quem se senta à frente do público, perturbada pela expectativa que essa ideia despoletou em mim escrevi:
Bom, eu suporto sentar-me aqui à vossa frente, mas isso deve-se à minha enorme capacidade de abstracção(...)
Este projecto a solo procura assim anular a representação, no sentido em que todos os acontecimentos em palco são consequências reais de um processo alimentado por uma relação de expectativas. E a expectativa em si, não esperando nada em concrecto, revela-se no entanto um pugente impulsionador de discurso.

BIRDS AND WIND (2008)

In my works, where the fields of dance and theatre normally get into tight competition, I sometimes start from writing in order to, subsequently, create and stage the movement; some other times, I start from the creation of movement or actions and eventually write a piece.
This time, I started by sitting and writing.
And from the desire of seeing one day this text becoming a theater play, I sat in front of the computer as if in front of the public. Disturbed by the expectation this idea originated in me, I wrote:
I can stand to sit before you, but I owe that to my skills of abstraction (…)

BIRDS AND WIND is a project for a solo performance that seeks to nullify the representation, in the sense that all the events on stage are real consequences of a process raised by a network of expectations. Though the expectation here is of pure form and doesn't actually “expect” anything, being exclusively a powerful instigator of speech.
